RALEIGH, N.C. — The new operator of the Carolina Hurricanes would like his crew to earn — soon.
Tom Dundon was released Friday as the bulk operator of the crew with the NHL’s longest lively postseason drought, at eight decades.
Even though frequently describing himself as impatient, the 46-yr-outdated Dallas billionaire also suggests he is “not likely to make irrational, silly conclusions” as a first-time operator of a specialist athletics crew.
Dundon suggests he values “successful far more than dollars, but it would not imply I want to burn up it.”
Dundon was released a working day soon after the closing of his buy of the bulk of the crew from longtime operator Peter Karmanos Jr., who will retain a minority ownership interest.
