Louis Oosthuizen won’t be taking part in in this week’s European Tour event, and the South African golfer has a freak damage to thank.
Although traveling to Johannesburg for the Joburg Open, Oosthuizen jammed two fingers on his remaining hand among two airport luggage trolleys.
The Sunshine Tour, which co-sponsors the tour with the European Tour, tweeted a seem at Oosthuizen’s wounded fingers.

He withdrew from the closing European Tour event of 2017 on Wednesday.
“This early morning is even worse than it was yesterday, so I experimented with to grip a golfing club, but you can find no way I can go to my grip position,” Oosthuizen reported. “It truly is a little bit of an unlucky a person, but I will not want to tee off Thursday and play a person gap or a few pictures and then withdraw after using someone’s place. I just can’t do that. So I am going to have to withdraw from this a person.”
Oosthuizen was coming off two best-10 finishes. He is tied for 23rd in Race for Dubai. He is now ranked 23rd in the globe.
Oosthuizen reported he’ll have X-rays on the fingers to see if there is any additional problems to them.
